Kenn Watson: History of the Sandwich Isles Jacket and the Aloha Friday. Saturday Noon October 19th
It is perhaps the most coveted item in the Tiki fashionista’s wardrobe. It’s shockingly bold yet beautifully tailored. It is the epitome of aloha mixed with elegance. It is the Sandwich Isles jacket. Oooh ahhhh, yes! Circa Caliente is delighted to introduce you to Kenn Watson as he brings you his fascinating symposium on this famous jacket on Saturday afternoon. During his sixty minute presentation, Kenn will tell you about the history of “Aloha Friday”, the fashion company, “Malia of Hawaii” and the certain political convention connection to all of this. His slideshow will contain a dazzling array of vintage Sandwich Isles advertisements, which will make you start rummaging through all your elderly uncles closets with the hope of finding one. Attendees are encouraged to bring or wear their Sandwich Isles jackets to this symposium so Kenn can help you identify the names of their prints and just so you can just show them off!
There are only fifty tickets available for this symposium, they $42.00 each, which includes a perfectly-themed, crafted Tiki libation to sip while you become educated.
